Hi! I’m Amber, a BCBA/RBA with years of experiences supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. Before I was a practitioner, I was a sibling. Growing up with a brother on the autism spectrum has given me valuable insight on both sides of the equation- as treatment provider and as a caregiver.

I’ve seen firsthand the impact of competent and capable ABA providers in the lives of caregivers. This personal connection fuels my commitment to setting realistic, socially significant goals that make a tangible difference in everyday life.

With a strong foundation in behavioral principles, I bring both academic knowledge and practical expertise to every session. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter ABA—I know the rules so well that I can adapt them to fit each unique individual.

Let’s work together to create meaningful growth!

My journey into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) didn’t begin in a classroom or a clinic—it started at home. My younger brother was diagnosed with autism at the age of 4. I witnessed firsthand the transformation he experienced from in-home ABA therapy. I wasn’t just just a bystander; I was an active participant in his progress. I saw how structured teaching provided him with new skills, and how meaningful, compassionate support changed not only his life but my own life.

But I also experienced the other side—the stress, the exhaustion, and the emotional weight of caregiving. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by maladaptive behaviors in public, to grieve the societal barriers that shouldn’t exist but do, and to constantly advocate for accommodations that neurotypical children receive without question. I understand how isolating it can feel when your family’s experience is different from the norm.

It was because of these experiences that at just 11 years old, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I watched my brother’s therapists work with data, break skills down into achievable steps, and measure progress in a way that was both scientific and deeply compassionate. I learned that ABA wasn’t just a career path—it was a way to make a real difference, to bridge the gap between research and lived experience.

Driven by this passion, I pursued a Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto (2016), with a strong focus on child development and behavioral science. My undergraduate education provided me with a deep understanding of the history of not only behavioral science but psychology as a whole, which has become the foundation for my clinical approach.

Determined to advance my expertise, I earned a Master of Education in Foundations of ABA from the University of Cincinnati (2020). I received extensive training in behavioral assessment, skill-building interventions, reading interventions, and the broader applications of ABA across educational and clinical settings.

Always eager to learn, I have since completed over a year of PhD coursework in advanced ABA research and clinical applications, diving deeper into the latest methodologies, ethical considerations, and innovative strategies in the field.

With over five years of experience, I have worked with neurodivergent individuals across a wide range of ages, abilities, and settings. My experience spans early intervention, school-based consultation, in-home therapy, and community-based support, allowing me to understand the unique challenges and opportunities in each environment. Some of my key areas of expertise include:

Communication & Self-Advocacy – Empowering individuals through language development, AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), and functional communication training
Self-Regulation & Executive Functioning – Teaching skills like impulse control, flexible thinking, and emotional regulation to increase independence
Daily Living & Academic Skills – Supporting foundational learning, problem-solving, and practical life skills for increased autonomy
Behavioral Assessment & Consultation – Conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), developing individualized support plans, and collaborating with families and educators to create supportive learning environments.

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to blend clinical expertise with lived experience. I don’t just approach ABA from a practitioner’s perspective—I approach it as someone who is a caregiver. This allows me to create interventions that are not only evidence-based but also realistic, sustainable, and compassionate.
